The pandemic intensified population trends of migration to the South and West, as well as a slowdown in growth in the biggest cities in the U.S. Give credit back to the gay men, drag queens, and lesbians who got it all started for you. Such initiative did NOT exist back then, for a variety of unfortunate reasons, but that is the reality. While the transgender movement deserves momentum, and deserves support from the LGB communities wherever possible, the transgender movement does NOT deserve to co-opt or reclaim Stonewall as their own movement, or at all based on their own initiative. Drag queens do not all want to be women, despite what many young folks try to claim these days. Some (but not all) of these men identify as women and wish to live as such.

This is huge, and she is to be celebrated as an early hero of all movements toward equal rights.
